Japanese infielder Hideto Asamura
Hideto Asamura is an infielder in Japan who registered a .407 OBP in 30 games as a rookie in 2010. His first full season in2011 was less kind to him, leaving his career statistics as follows: .318 OBP . .394 Slugging (.712 OPS), .111 Secondary average, .285 BABIP, 2.88 PAPP, and .8 PG. This gets even uglier when you consider his numbers through the metric of Japanese hitters going through the Majors that I have previously written about. His numbers would be as follows: .285 OBP, 3.62 PAPP, .31 PPG. Asamura is clearly not ready for Majors, especially because his lack of walks. However, at age 20, not many people are, and Asamura may be someone to keep an eye on in the future.
